First Response Emergency Care (FREC 3)

The recognised qualification for event medics and first responders working in prehospital care.

FREC 3 is the entry qualification for anyone who wants to work as an event medic or first responder. It covers patient assessment and emergency care to a standard well beyond workplace first aid.

What the course covers

  • Roles and responsibilities of a first responder
  • Patient assessment and the primary survey
  • Airway management, including adjuncts
  • Medical and trauma emergencies
  • Medical gases and wound management

Assessment and certification

Practical assessments, scenarios and a written exam. The certificate is valid for three years.
