Online course
Basic Life Support Refresher (Online)
Refresh the essential skills that keep someone alive until help arrives: recognising cardiac arrest, high-quality CPR, using an AED and the recovery position.
This online refresher revisits the core Basic Life Support (BLS) skills taught on our classroom courses, following current UK Resuscitation Council guidelines. It is ideal for anyone whose first aid certificate is still in date but who wants to keep their knowledge sharp between courses.
What you will learn
- How the chain of survival works and why every link matters
- How to recognise cardiac arrest and call for help quickly
- How to deliver high-quality chest compressions and rescue breaths
- How to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely
- When and how to place an unresponsive, breathing casualty in the recovery position
How it works
Work through the four short lessons in order. Each lesson takes around ten to fifteen minutes and you can stop and return at any time; your progress is saved automatically. When all lessons are complete, take the multiple-choice assessment. Score 80% or more to pass and your certificate will be available to print straight away.
Important
Online learning refreshes knowledge but does not replace hands-on practice. This certificate does not replace a full First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification. If you need a full practical certificate, see our classroom courses.
